Why Bars and Restaurants Are Adding Kombucha on Tap

Walk into most bars and ask what they have without alcohol. You will usually hear soda, juice, or a sweet mocktail someone has to build by hand. More guests are asking that question every year, and the venues with a good answer keep them at the table longer.

Kombucha on tap is one of the simplest good answers there is. It pours like beer, looks like a craft drink in the glass, and gives someone who is not drinking tonight something with real flavor and real fizz.

Who It’s For

  • The designated driver who would order a second round if there were something worth ordering.
  • Guests doing Dry January, Sober October, or skipping alcohol for good.
  • The lunch crowd that wants something better than soda before heading back to work.
  • Anyone who just likes kombucha, which is a lot more people than it used to be.

Why Draft Beats Bottles Behind the Bar

Bottles work, and plenty of our partners stock them. A tap does more. It puts kombucha on the same handle row as everything else, so guests see it without asking. It pours fast during a rush, and the glass looks like any other draft on the table, which matters to people who would rather not explain why they are not drinking.

It also opens up the bar menu. Kombucha mixes well in cocktails, so the same keg can pour straight for non-drinkers and go into a boochtail for everyone else. Our Ginger Stepchild and Salty Dog Cactus Fruit are both bartender favorites for exactly that reason.

What It Takes to Pour Kombucha From a Keg

Kombucha is a live, raw drink, so it needs to stay cold from our brewery to your glass. That means keeping kegs in your walk-in or kegerator, the same as craft beer.

Kombucha is acidic, so a dedicated line with stainless steel parts keeps it tasting clean and keeps flavors from crossing over. If you are adding a new line or converting one, we will walk through your setup with you before the first keg shows up.

Why Local

Springs Culture is brewed in small batches here in Colorado Springs with organic tea and real fruit. Founder Janie Otero still runs the brewing, so when you have a question about a flavor or a delivery, you are talking to the person who made it. The brewery has won Best of The Springs every year since it opened, and a lot of your regulars already know the name.

Today Springs Culture pours at bars, cafes, kava bars, breweries and The Broadmoor. See the full list on our Tap Partners page.
